Ever wandered what’s the story of Overwatch’s Bastion? That kind of robot is it? Why is it fighting? And that’s the deal with bird?! Blizzard has heard these questions you shout into the Internet, and has released a new animated short staring the beloved automaton.
The video, title The Last Bastion, follows Bastion, the last functioning omnic of his type, as it is reactivated in the middle of the forest, years after the war it was designed for has ended. As it explores its new surrounding, its newfound curiosity seems to conflict with its combat programming.
The video also shows how Bastion and its feathery companion Ganymede meet. It’s kind of cute, actually.
Overwatch is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
