Tarsier Studios has released a few new details about Little Nightmares, including a brand new trailer that shows a actual gameplay, unlike the atmospheric piece that was the first teaser trailer.
In the trailer, we see protagonist Six exploring The Maw in her little yellow raincoat. We already knew The Mew was not a nice place, but now we can see some of the horrible things inhabiting it for the first time. That thing with the long arms is especially creepy, though the cook will probably haunt my nights as well.
Tarsier is describing the game as “part dream, part nightmare, where every step feels like a leap, and every shadow a vast darkness.” Judging solely by the trailer, I’d say that’s right on the money. I personally love the dollhouse aesthetics and visual design. It is exactly the right mix between cute and disturbing, so I’m already completely sold on this game.
Little Nightmares will PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Spring 2017.
