Suicide Squad is making the transition into the video game world faster than I expected, or at least two of its members are. Both Harley Quinn and Deadshot will be playable characters in Injustice 2.
Harley Quinn is a returning character from the first game, although her new design is much more similar to the one in the movie, which I think is a better look for her. This is Deadshot’s first appearance in the series, and he appears to favor close combat though it’s a bit difficult to judge considering we see very little of him in the announcement trailer above.
We do get to see more of Harley is the new gameplay video below, courtesy of IGN. The video shows two matches between Harley and Blue Beetle, and two matches between Wonder Woman and Gorilla Grodd.
Later in the video we get a look at the character customization options, which let players equip their characters with different gear. Gear is unlocked through combat, and each piece of gear grants a different bonuses. It’s a good opportunity to see Harley’s different costumes, which seem to range between her classic harlequin costume, an outfit similar to the one she wears in the Assault on Arkham movie, and a few Suicide Squad touches. We also see Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle try on a few pieces of gear.
Injustice 2 will be released in 2017 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
