Nine Parchments is a new title by Finnish game developer Frozenbyte, the same studio that brought us the Trine trilogy and Shadwen. It is a co-operative “blast’em up” filled with magical chaos reminiscent of the popular Magicka. However, it is clearly a Frozenbyte title, as evident by the distinct visual style.
The game’s story revolves around a group of wizard apprentices who decided to skip seven out of their nine years of training. The drop-out wizards go on a quest to find the Nine Parchments and master them without going throw the trouble of hard work, dedication or safety procedures.
As you might have guessed, their adventure is full magical explosions, monsters, and unwanted deaths.
You can get a taste of the chaotic gameplay in the game’s announcement trailer above. Nine Parchments is set to release in 2017 on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Chaotic co-op gameplay can be seen in the announcement trailer.
Frozenbyte will be showing a playable version of the game at the Indie Arena at gamescom this year.
