Korean news website, iNews24, has revealed that Blizzard may very well be working on a remaster of their hit real time strategy game, Starcraft.

According to the official translation from Kotaku, sources let the news slip to the website ahead of an officially planned reveal after the Starcraft II Mexico tournament wraps up in September. Although not offering much, the remaster will reportedly include mechanical enhancements, in addition to a higher resolution for modern computers.

An actual quote from the site states that, “The StarCraft HD remastered version will retain the original gameplay and is said to have improved graphics resolution and user interface (UI).” Meaning that if this rumor is true, fans can at least expect the same great story and gameplay that made the initial title a success back in 1998.

Blizzard has yet to release a confirmation of the remaster, but the past year has seen a fair amount of new team members hired to help bring most of their classic library to modern PCs and Macs. What this all boils down to is the fact that an official Starcraft remaster is most likely on its way.

If the rumor is true, fans can expect an official confirmation later this September.
