Hideo Kojima spoke a little bit more about his new title, Death Stranding, at the Develop Conference. The creator of the Metal Gear franchise claims that he is “very confident this will be my best work”.
Kojima explained that his confidence comes from his partner and legendary PS4 designer, Mark Cerny. “So far, when I’ve been making games, I’ve had to give up on something or at least compromise on something in order to get things done, but this time, working with you [Mark Cerny] and you bringing the state of the art technologies, we will get around that [usual problem],” Kojima told Creny during his keynote.
“I’m very confident that we’re working towards something completely new and that no one has seen so far. This will be my best work so far, I’m very confident about that,” he summarized.
Revealed at E3 2016 a few weeks ago, Death Stranding surprised and confused by gamers so far, and as more information comes out, more questions arise. However, whilst things seem to be going well with Kojima and Cerny’s partnership, the game has no release date and we’ve been told not to expect one for a while yet.
One thing is clear – this is no Silent Hills, but whether it’s something new or just something different remains to be seen.
