With the release of Final Fantasy XV only a few months away, Square Enix has introduced a new trailer that details everything within the universe of the upcoming game.

As of now, there are 4 aspects of the universe: the actual game Final Fantasy XV, the upcoming film, Kingsglaive, the anime Final Fantasy XV: Brotherhood, and finally the mobile title Justice Monsters Five. Each of the four pieces tells a different part of the encompassing story.

Justice Monsters Five may be a simple pinball game, but it does feature a lot of fun easter eggs from the Final Fantasy series and sets up the environment of the world. Final Fantasy XV acts as the here and now., the culmination of the entire story and characters in an epic fantasy adventure that confronts the evil empire of Niflheim.

Brotherhood, on the other hand, is an anime series that follows the game’s characters just before the events it depicts, exploring not only their unique abilities, but also the bonds of friendship that all four of the heroes have with each other.

Last but not least, is the animated movie Final Fantasy XV: Kingsglaive. Also taking place before the events of the central game, the film follows a royal order of knights who serve King Lucis, father of the game’s main character, Noctis. During a time of war, the king is given the opportunity of bringing peace to the world, so long as he gives up his entire kingdom.

Each piece of the XV puzzle brings forth its own story, but also adds to the overarching plot that carries on throughout the timeline of the Fabula Nova Crystallis universe.

Fans of the series can watch the first 3 episodes of Brotherhood on the official YouTube channel now, where new episodes will also be released each month before the release of the game. Justice Monsters Five will be released in August for iOS and Android devices. Kingsglaive will receive a limited theatrical release on August 19, with a later release on Blu-ray, while the game, Final Fantasy XV, will be released on September 30, for the PS4 and Xbox One.
