Following April, when Atlus and NIS America severed all ties, people were worried as to how the popular Persona series would be distributed and published in Europe. Today, Deep Silver and Atlus announced that they would be working together to bring their illustrious franchises to European audiences.
Deep Silver is a well-known publisher for games such as the Dead Rising series and Saint’s Row, and it plans to bring games like Persona 5 and Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse to European gamers who so desperately want them. The publisher even said it would deliver the Persona 5 Collector’s Edition, a physical item, to stores across Europe, making it accessible for all.
“In entering this partnership with Deep Silver, I am truly delighted we will be able to release our titles in the European regions,” said Naoto Hiraoka, CEO of Atlus U.S.A and senior VP of publishing at Sega of America. “Not only does the deal span multiple titles, but Deep Silver has a strong presence in European and PAL retailers. They have a strong passion for being able to deliver physical games to our fans in those territories, which we hold in high regard.”
The one sticking point of this business is that games released in the time between Atlus and NIS America’s split and this announcement, have not been mentioned. Some fear they will not be made available in Europe. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if this new deal includes any past titles or not.
