Capcom will be releasing a pretty big update for Street Fighter V tomorrow, containing the much-anticipated story mode titled “A Shadow Falls”. The story DLC is completely free for all players.

A Shadow Falls depicts the ultimate battle between the evil Shadaloo organization and the heroic World Warriors who rise up against it. It will be divided in to five acts, and will fill in the gap between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III. Players will play as all 16 core characters, as well as the 6 DLC characters, in the “epic clash” the story mode unfolds.

Along the new story mode, the new update will include the two new characters, Balrog and Ibuki, together with new stages, new costumes and improvements to the matchmaking system. Unlike the A Shadow Falls, all the other content will cost you either in-game Fight Money or real currency. Balrog and Ibuki are priced at 100,000 FM / $5.99.

New stages

Balrog’s Las Vegas stage and Karin’s Kanzuki Family Private Beach stage are brand new and will be available to purchase using Fight Money or real currency. Additionally, three new alternate stage options will become available.

The new stages will cost 70,000 FM / $3.99, while the three alternate stages are 40,000 FM / $1.99.

New costume options

Premium Battle Costumes for all 20 released characters, as well as Karin’s Premium Summer Costume, will be available to purchase using real currency. Balrog and Ibuki’s Story Costumes will be purchasable using either Fighter Money or real currency.

Story Costumes will be 40,000 FM / $1.99, while the Premium Costumes are $3.99 / €3.99.

In-game Currency Shop

The in-game store will be upgraded with the PlayStation Store and Steam real money purchase options, for their respective platform. For players who want to purchase content like new characters, stages and costumes outright without using Fight Money, the process will be familiar with purchases happening through the established first party infrastructures.

Matchmaking improvements

Faster and smarter matching, resulting in higher quality matches and a better online experience overall.

Street Fighter V story mode will be available tomorrow, July 1, for all PC and PS4 players as free DLC
