In an unexpected turn of events, the publishers at Warner Bros. Interactive decided to delay the launch of the HD re-release, Batman: Return to Arkham.

The announcement came from the Warner Bros. Community board where a staff member broke the news. “After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience,” they stated.

The staff member then went on to acknowledge the anticipation with which fans of the series were waiting and that there is currently no anticipated release date. Batman: Return to Arkham was originally slated to arrive on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at the end of July.

The silver lining is that whenever the game does get released, fans will receive a game that has been given a proper treatment, and we should avoid another Arkham Knight on PC debacle.
