The debut gameplay trailer for Gun Media’s, Friday the 13th: The Game, is bloody, disgusting and definitely worth checking out!

The trailer is filled to the brim with 80’s nostalgia as the new game title brings the horrifying world of Camp Crystal Lake to life. Players will be able to explore the environments around the lake as either a camp counselor or Jason Voorhies himself. The goal being incredibly simple, survive until the dawn, or hunt down every last sex-crazed counselor.

Each character has their own unique gameplay that relates back to the movie franchise. The counselors have the ability to hide from Jason, either in the forest or in abandoned houses, however, they are also plagued by stamina. Meaning that very much like in the movies, your character can get tired. Allowing Jason to catch up to you and resulting in some intensely gory kill screens.

Jason on the other hand, has a few more tricks up his sleeve. His mechanics allow him to view a map, sense where a counselor may be hiding, use a special vision to see where people are and teleport right next to a nearby counselor. All while accompanied by a spooky voice over from his dead mother, Pamela Voorhees.

Fans of the slasher franchise can pre-order the game from the official crowdfunding website and help encourage the development of even more in-game content. Friday the 13th: The Game is anticipated to be available this October for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
