The new E3 2016 cinematic trailer for Microsoft’s Halo Wars 2 may not feature any official gameplay, but it tells the story we’ve all been waiting for.

343 Industries has been working on Halo Wars 2 to for a good long while, but the new cinematic trailer signals that we are even closer to the upcoming release. The somber tone of the teaser is the call of war as the Spirit of Fire warship, led by Captain Cutter, faces off against a new villainous faction known as the Banished.

The Banished are covenant soldiers who were, well, banished and are now led by the vengeful Brute Warlord Atriox. Atriox is in control of a massive army that are hellbent on complete and utter destruction. With such a threat looming over humanity, its fate is in the hands of Cutter, as well as the player’s.

The new real-time strategy game Halo Wars 2 is a sequel to the original Xbox 360 title, and is coming to PC and Xbox One on February 21, 2017. In the meantime, fans can get their hands on the Xbox One beta between now, June 13, and June 20.
