I Am Setsuna, the “classic RPG for modern times”, has its first gameplay trailer. By mere chance, this trailer is also the game’s E3 2016 trailer, coming ahead of the show next month.

The gameplay trailer shows the game’s battle system, said to be inspired by the RPG classic Chrono Trigger. We also get to see the retro visual style, hear its haunting soundtrack and appreciate the overall premise.

According to developer Tokyo RPG Factory, I Am Satsuna tells the sorrowful story of Setsuna, a young woman who sacrifices herself in order to save her people. Plays will accompany her and her two bodyguards as they travel to a faraway land to fight the evil that resides there.

I Am Setsuna will be aviailable on North America come July 19, only on PlayStation 4.
