Recently, Yo-kai Watch has taken the world by storm. With a plethora of ways to enjoy Yo-kai, such as the animated series or even its line of Hasbro toys, everybody seems to be taking part. However, the greatest news to fans is the announcement that Level-5’s sequel, Yo-kai Watch 2, will arrive in North America on September 30.
Taking a page from another Nintendo series, Pokemon, Yo-kai Watch 2 will come in two different flavors. Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Yo-kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls will both contain the same story, but will include Yo-kai that are unique to each one. Other information on any unique features to the separate games has yet to be detailed.
“After being such a massive sensation in Japan, it’s great to see the U.S. start to embrace the mischievous and lovable Yo-kai,” Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive VP of Sales & Marketing stated. “We’re excited to continue bringing fun Yo-kai experiences stateside this year.”
According to Nintendo’s press release, not only are they bringing Yo-kai Watch 2 to the U.S., but they’re also expanding their other Yo-kai oriented projects. This includes a second season of Disney XD’s Yo-kai Watch animated series, the 5th volume of the VIZ Media manga series, and the Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble – a mobile app with gameplay featuring puzzles and the lovable Yo-kai characters.
