Activision has officially announced Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare with an official reveal trailer. The trailer gives us so much information about the game, that it’s hard to decide where to start from.
First of all, it seems like the rumors were true – the next Call of Duty title is indeed a sci-fi shooter set in space. Not entirely in space, as we can clearly see some fighting sequences on Earth, but enough to justify the heavy rendition of David Bowie’s Space Oddity that plays in the background. There are more than a few alien environments in the trailer, so we’ll definitely get to visit different planets and moons in our solar system.
We can also see the player character piloting a spacecraft of sorts, and even participating in a dogfight inside of Earth’s orbit. I wonder just how much freedom we are going to have when flying around space.
The official blurb that came with the trailer reveals a little bit about the plot. “Prepare for a gripping war story in which players fight against the Settlement Defense Front to defend our very way of life,” it reads.
After treating us to the footage from the new Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the trailer moves on to confirm the rumored Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. The remastered version of the hit game will arrive with the full single-player campaign and 10 multiplayer maps from the original title.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare arrives on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 4, 2016. More information about the game will be available soon.
