The Battleborn launch trailer has been release by Gearbox Software and 2K Games.
The video is cinematic and exciting, and doesn’t particularly focus on the plot, instead choosing to emphasize the many ways to can have fun within the game.
For those of you who are care to know more about the plot here’s a quick sum-up: the stars are being stolen by some force of unimaginable evil, and the 25 Battleborn must defend the last star in existence, or risk losing the universe. Whilst these stakes seem high, the trailer handles it with a lighthearted, goofy spectacle that suits the game itself.
The game describes itself as a “new first-person shooter for every kind of badass.” Every kind of badass was certainly present in the trailer, with a slew of 25 ridiculously over-the-top heroes, each equipped with an unholy arsenal of assault.
Battleborn is due out on May 3 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
