Bethesda Softworks have announced that The Elder Scrolls 6 is going to be released in the upcoming years. Pete Hine, Vice President of PR and Marketing at Bethesda, confirmed the game, and described it as “Skyrim 2”, which suggests that the next The Elder Scrolls game will be continuing the tale that Skyrim told. Fans of Morrowind and Oblivion may not be getting their continuations.

Currently, Bethesda have been heavily focused on Fallout 4 and the DLC for it, and so it has been stated that all the DLC will be released for Fallout 4 before any massive work will go into the next game. Since Bethesda doesn’t usually work on multiple big projects side by side, it’s likely to assume that work will start on The Elder Scrolls 6 as soon as Fallout 4 is completely finished.

This, however, means the game will most likely not be out until 2019 or 2020. Still, for the fans, the wait is something that will be worth it.
