Rod Fergusson, studio head at The Coalition, has confirmed Gears of War 4 will bring back couch co-op.
Speaking on The Game Informer Show, Fergusson promised that the series “can never get rid of” split-screen co-op. In fact, Gears of War 4 will include split-screen across all modes. “Any way you can play Gears of War you can play split-screen,” he said.
Playing split-screen in multiplayer will reduce the frame-rate down to 30fps instead of the regular 60fps.
In other news, Microsoft has announced Gears of War 4 will be released worldwide on October 11.
You’ll be able to get a taste of the game’s multiplayer on April 18 in the closed beta, or on April 24 when the beta opens for all Xbox Live Gold members – exclusively on Xbox One.
