Nintendo’s Eiji Aonuma revealed that fans of The Legend of Zelda can expect “something new” from Legend of Zelda Wii U title.
According to Kotaku’s translation of a Famitsu article, Aonuma stated that “players will be surprised”. “Please look forward to it, because I think we’ll be able to make ‘something new’ like Ocarina of Time was,” he continued.
Offering a peek behind the scenes, Aonuma revealed that “the base of our secret sauce has always been Ocarina of Time, but this time, the change in flavor will be like going from Japanese food to Western style food.” Essentially this probably means that the game will feature more westernized elements, such as an open world or a more customizable character.
“The game has really taken shape, and things have gotten easier,” Aonuma stated, hinting that at the very least, the story content is nearing its completion.
Nintendo’s upcoming Legend of Zelda title is expected to release later this year for the Wii U, but rumors have begun to circulate that it could be ported to the NX console as well.
