Publisher Koei Tecmo has finally unveiled the official walkthrough footage for the long awaited RPG – Nioh. This walkthrough was available behind closed doors at TGS 2015, but now everyone can watch it.
The demo was taken from an early alpha build of the game on PlayStation 4. Although still in development, the game’s art style is rendered beautifully during the night time assault featured in the video.
The footage reveals more of the bloody hack and slash gameplay, as well as some minor RPG elements, quickly making Nioh one of the most highly anticipated titles from developers at Team Ninja. We see quite a bit of combat, and a glimpse at the inventory system and some special items. Judging from this fairly short video, Nioh does feel a lot like a certain Souls series.
After ten years of development, the title still has no official release date, but is expected to ship sometime this year, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
