Publisher Deep Silver has announced Dead Island: Definitive Collection, an HD remake of both Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. In addition to the previous two  titles in the series, the Definitive Collection will include a 2D side-scroller titled Dead Island Retro Revenge.

As one would expect from an new-gen remake, Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide will both enjoy various improvements, like high quality textures, HBAO and motion blur effects, enhanced anti-aliasing and more. Perhaps the most interesting inclusion, however, is the Power Fists Power-up, inspired by a popular PC mod that lets you punch your way through the zombie-infested islands.

As mentioned, Dead Island Retro Revenge is also part of this collection. This old-school style 2D beat ’em up features melee based combat, leaderboards and a deep combo system. At least, that’s what Deep Silver claims, as we have no gameplay footage of the game.

Dead Island: Definitive Collection will be released on May 31 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Dead Island Definitive Edition, and Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition will both be available for separately if you wish to only play one of them.
