Bad news, everyone – Mass Effect Andromeda will not be released in 2016. Insert meme of Darth Vader Yelling here.
No, its true. According to EA CFO Blake Jorgensen, Mass Effect Andromeda is scheduled to be released in early 2017, or Q4 of the 2016 financial year. That’s somewhere between January and March 2017.
“We’ve got a great year ahead,” JorgensenĀ told attendees at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference. “We’ve got our Battlefield first-person shooter game coming in the third quarter, and our third-party title that Respawn, our partner, built, it’s called TItanfall, it’s the second title that they brought into that brand.”
“We have our Mirror’s Edge runner game this first quarter, and then we have Mass Effect, which is a sci-fi action game, in our fourth quarter. So big year ahead and we’re pretty excited,” he concluded.
Some of us expected Andromeda to be released during holiday season of 2016, but now it seems we have a more solid release window of Q1 of 2017. That’s a whole year away, by the way.
Thanks NeoGAF.
