The eighth Sherlock Holmes game by Frogwares, Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter, has a new and rather strange cinematic trailer. By cinematic, I mean of course just CGI and not gameplay.

The trailer, titled A Mystic Trip, we see Holmes chasing a ghostly little girl through a twisted London alley. True to the title, the trailer is indeed quite a trip, with ominous flashes appearing on screen, as well as more than a hint of supernatural activity. Frogwares promises us a dark and immersive interactive experience that blends  exploration, investigation and action.

From what we know, the girl in the video is named Katelyn, and her family hides a dark secret. There’s also a clairvoyant who moved next door to Holmes’ place, and is involved in the occult. As the press release puts it: “For the first time in his prestigious career, the most illustrious of detectives must fight not to reveal a secret, but to keep one.” Intriguing to say the least.

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter is set to release on May 27, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
