Slashy Souls, a free iOS and Android game by Bandai Namco, is being released today, February 28. As the name may suggest, the mobile game is a sort of spinoff to the upcoming Dark Souls 3.
Though it takes the form of an endless runner, there is said to be a heavy focus on difficulty and challenge which should be familiar to fans of the Souls games. However, Bandai Namco has also stated that Slashy Souls is part of the Dark Souls canon and is only “inspired” by the series.
While the gameplay might be a tad different, the 16-bit runner features weapons, spells and upgrades that will be old territory for anyone interested in the Souls franchise. With Dark Souls 3 being released in April, and apparently being the final game in the series, it’s no wonder that the publishers are trying to keep fans hyped for the game.
As said earlier,Slashy Souls is set to be released today on Android and iOS devices. Head to the app stores if you’re prepare to die.
