Warner Bros. and TT Games have officially unveiled their newest adventure – Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The game’s announcement trailer brilliantly skewers the famous 88 second trailer for the latest Star Wars film, giving it that Lego spin we know from previous titles.
The game will contain material that bridges the time between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, though we still don’t know what it will be. New gameplay features will also give players the chance to experience “the thrill of high-speed flight gameplay through arena-based battles and dogfights in space.” That basically means we’ll get to fly Lego versions of famous vehicles from the franchise, including the legendary Millennium Falcon.
The team at TT Games is seems very excited to return to the franchise that helped solidify their name within the gaming world. “We’re extremely proud of the LEGO Star Wars videogames, truly an incredible franchise that has sold more than 33 million copies and helped ignite a passion for numerous fun-filled LEGO games enjoyed by countless gamers around the world,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director at TT Games. “LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be pushing the series forward with innovative new gameplay mechanics, while also exploring new parts of the universe that are sure to excite and delight both LEGO and Star Wars fans, as well as newcomers to our games.”
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will also be getting a Deluxe Edition. This special edition will contain a Finn mini-figure, as well as the game’s Season Pass. Additionally, the PS4 and PS3 versions will have access to an exclusive DLC, something that called The Droid Pack, and another level called The Phantom Limb. This level most likely to feature C-3PO and his mysterious red arm.
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on June 28 for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, and 3DS.
