As of December 15, 2015, Hideo Kojima has officially cut all ties with Konami. The famosu game director has left left the publisher once and for all, after a long and embattled feud that came to a climax at this years Game Awards.

The official report form Nikkei (translated by gematsu) states only that all of his contractual ties to Konami have been completely severed, and that the Director of this year’s hit title Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is in final negotiations to create a brand new studio with Sony Computer Entertainment.

No other official information has come out from either party, but gamers everywhere should be happy to know that the imaginative designer is back to developing for the console he helped define.
