Lionhead Studios announced that the open beta for Fable Legends won’t launch until after spring 2016.

The upcoming installment in the Fable series was originally announced at E3 2015, but since then, as the official announcement states “we didn’t anticipate just how big Fable Legends is becoming. It’s simply the most ambitious game we’ve ever created at Lionhead.”

In an effort to add new features and an extra level of polish to the game, they have decided push the open beta back a few months. The silver lining however, is that Lionhead has also revealed that they are inviting 100,000 new players to the closed beta. The 4 vs. 1 online gameplay has already featured numerous updates since the beta, and the developers hope to continue to integrating feedback from the beta users.

When Fable Legends launches, players will compete in epic multiplayer challenges in cross platform matches between Xbox One and Windows 10 users. The extended closed beta can be signed up for on the game’s website and is open to users on both platforms.
