CD Project RED, known for their Witcher series, are aiming to release their upcoming sci-fi title Cyberpunk 2077 in late 2016. According to German gaming news site Gamereactor, the title is expected to be released for the PC, but has a very strong chance of making it to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One after the initial release.

Cyberpunk 2077 is based on the popular pen and paper RPG Cyber Punk 2020 created by Mike Pondsmith, and has been in development since 2012. The news coming towards the end of a fairly standard 4 year development cycle, and after the extended work on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLC starts coming to a close.

CD Projekt RED has yet to make an official statement as to the release date, but we are hoping to get our hands on Cyberpunk 2077 during the 2016 holiday season. For more on the series, you can watch the creator himself discuss his inspirations, or watch the original announcement trailer again.
