Sad new to all you free runners out there – Mirror’s Edge Catalyst has been delayed. The game was previously scheduled for February 25, but today DICE announced it is pushing it back to May 24, 2016.
As is most often the case, the reason for the delay is to have more time to bring the studio’s ambitious vision to life. The City of Glass, where Catalyst takes place, is huge and filled with skyscrapers, underground tunnels and beautiful vista, and creating all these in detail takes time. Who knew.
“we’ve made the decision to bring Mirror’s Edge to the world starting May 24, 2016,” reads the statement. “We will use these few extra months to make sure that when you step into the massive City of Glass and experience the rise of Faith, it’s as entertaining, impressive, and memorable as it can be.”
Unfortunately for us, this means we’ll have to wait 6 whole months until we finally get to play Mirror’s Edge Catalyst on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. From my very short experience with the game – I believe it will be worth the wait.
