Day of the Tentacle, the classic title and one of my personal favorite adventure games of all times, is being remastered by Double Fine. This is more of a re-release than a remake, so it’s basically the same game, but with a fresh coat of paint.
The remastered edition will also have remastered sound, modern UI, commentary by Tim Schafer and the creative team, as well as the first Maniac Mansion as a bonus feature, much like the original Day of the Tentacle had.
The game was originally released in 1993 by the now defunct LucasArts for the PC and Mac, and featured a group of time-travelling teenagers, a mad scientist and talking tentacles of various color. We can expect Day of the Tentacle Remastered to bring the same craziness to the PC, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in early 2016.
Of course, right now we can only show you the new hand-drawn artwork in the screenshots below.
