Friday the 13th: The Game has been officially announced after it was revealed earlier this year. According to developers Gun Media and Illfonic, Friday the 13th: The Game is a 1v7 multiplayer third-person survival horror title, where seven players take the role of frightened teen camp counselors while one player embodies the iconic serial killer Jason Voorhees.

The seven teen counselors will have to do everything in their power to survive the night at Crystal Lake summer camp. They can use stealth to hide and wait out the night, or try and escape the premises. However, the truly brave can team up to take down Jason once and for all. It will be tough, but the developers promise that it can be done and will be something to really take pride in and boast about. But remember, Jason always comes back.

The player that steps into the boots and mask of the immortal Jason Voorhees will stalk his human prey from the shadows and pick them off one by one. Jason will be able to dispatch his victims with a variety of gruesome kills taken directly from the movies, with a few brand new ones.

As players progress in skill and levels, they will unlock new Jason models from across the franchise, including a couple of new, never-before-seen designs. New camp counselors, with unique stats and abilities, can also be unlocked as part of the game’s progression system.

Friday the 13th fans and connoisseurs of horror can help make Friday the 13th: The Game a reality by going over to the game’s Kickstarter page, where they will also be able to read more on interesting features such as the Movie Trailer and Fear systems.

If the game will meet the goal of $700,000, it will be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC in October 2016.
