The open multiplayer beta for DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront is coming this October.

Combating the hype from the recent Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta, EA will let fans have open access to a Battlefront multiplayer beta as well. Set to premiere in early October, the beta will include 3 playable modes including Walker Assault on Hoth, the 40 player mission to defend or destroy the Rebel base.

In addition, the beta will allow players to utilize the Dark Lord Vader or his son Luke Skywalker as the hero classes available on Hoth. Also included in the beta is a Tatooine Survival mission where two players team up against waves of Rebel or Imperial troops on the home world of both Anakin and Luke Skywalker.

Lastly, the official blog post on Electronic Arts’ Star Wars website is the new playable mode called Drop Zone. Nothing has been mentioned yet about the new mode, but it was stated in the blog post “We’ll be sharing more details on Drop Zone in the weeks ahead.”

You can look forward to announcements about the new mode here on, but until then the Star Wars: Battlefront Multiplayer beta will be available in early October for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
