Boss Key Productions, a studio formed by Cliff Bleszinski and Arjan Brussee, has announced its debut title – LawBreakers.
LawBreakers, or Project BlueStreak as it was formerly known, is a competitive multiplayer shooter, where players join teams in the opposite side of the law. These two warring factions are LAW and BREAKERS.
As you can imagine, LAW is a peacekeeping organization charged with upholding the law, while BREAKERS are apart of a highly-organized crime syndicate bent on breaking it.
As the story goes, LawBreakers takes place on a futuristic Earth, after a cataclysmic event called The Shattering changed the laws of gravity. The Shattering also ushered in a new era of technological advances in gravity manipulation and supplements that can grant superhuman powers.
In the gameplay trailer above, we see four different classes – two for each team.
Kitsune the Assassin and Cronos the Titan are on the side of the BREAKERS. Breacher the Gunner and Maverik the Skrimisher are on the side of the LAW. Each of the classes has unique weapons and abilities, and of course a different style of play.
We also see some classic and new gameplay elements, like using a rocket-launcher to boost jumps, or the ability to shoot enemies that are behind your back.
There’s still no release date for LawBreakers, but four characters and one map will be available for fans to try out during the PAX Prime weekend. However, the demo won’t take place in Seattle’s convention center, but rather in an undisclosed location.
