Mafia 3 was officially revealed at Gamescom today, just as promised. The worldwide reveal trailer, which you can see below, teaches you what family really means.
2K International has created a darkly haunting cinematic trailer for Mafia 3, their upcoming title about family and the people worth dying for. Like much coming out of Gamescom 2015, there isn’t much outside of the game’s existence to report on, except for the impending release next year.
Mafia 3 takes place in New Orleans where Lincoln Clay, fresh home from Vietnam, finds that the town is now overrun with Italian mobsters who are out to bleed the city dry. Orphaned at a young age, Lincoln’s new-found sense of family belongs to the members of the city’s black mob. After they are slaughters by the Italians, Lincoln swears bloody vengeance.
After the local gangsters once again take everything from Clay, he is forced to find his own way in the world. Throughout the game Lincoln will make and break alliances in order to form his own empire, and feed the people that took his family from him to the gators of the bayou.
Mafia 3 is being developed by Hangar 13 and will be released next year for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
