Scalebound was announced more than a year ago, and since then we haven’t heard all that much about it. All that changed today at Microsoft’s Gamescom 2015 event, when game director Hideki Kamiya took to the stage and showed a brief gameplay demo of the game. Here it is below, dragons and all.
While a little similar to 15 other games, the video above confirms one important thing – Scalebound looks awesome. Traveling a modern fantasy world with your very own dragon cannot be anything less.
We also learned a little bit more about the game’s story. The young man with the white hair and headphones is Drew. The big scaly guy that breathes fire is Thuban, the last of the dragons. The two lone heroes are bound by fate, and must fire together against an enemy that threaten the worlds of Draconis, Earth and an entire universe of parallel worlds.
And from those parallel worlds come even more warriors and dragons, to allow for a co-op experience of up to four players. Each player can customize his winged pal to create their own unique dragon.
Scalebound is set for Holiday 2016, exclusively on Xbox One.
