Konami has released a slew of new screenshots of Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain, ahead of its appearance at Gamescom 2015.

Amidst the overwhelming storm of bad press currently enveloping Konami, the company has decided to move forward with the promotional process of their upcoming fifth Metal Gear Solid title. It started by releasing some action packed new screenshots and announcing when the next trailer for the game will be appearing.

Almost immediately after the new screens were published, Konami took to Twitter to announce that a brand new trailer for the game will premiere on August 5. The trailer was described as having a larger overview of the story and gameplay advances that come with the next-generation technology.

Lastly, it was also announced that in order to make the September 1 release even more special, the PC version of Metal Gear Solid 5 was bumped up to match that of the consoles, so that everyone will be able to experience the game at the same time.

Whether there is any connection to the recent allegations against Konami, or if this was simply promotion for the upcoming release is still unclear, but the sheer amount of information that was disclosed at one time seems to indicate that they may be trying to divert fans’ attentions away from the issue.

Until anything is confirmed however, Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain will be available September 1 for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
