At the Dead or Alive Festival in Japan, Team Ninja announced that they are developing Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 specifically for Asian audiences.
DOAX 3 was first announced by series producer Yosuke Hayashi, who coyly introduced a game featuring DOA characters on vacation. “It is actually the number 1 request from the fans,” reads a translation of what Hayashi said during the festival. “I have been acting as if I was ignoring these requests. But we have actually begun developing that game, the latest installment. It’s still very early in development so we can’t give more details, but I want to announce today that we are making the game.”
Later confirmed on the Dead or Alive official Facebook page, the more horrifying news came with the announcement that DOAX3 was going to be developed exclusively for Japanese and Asian audiences.
While this ultimately means that the Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will not feature any English voice talents, the game has only now started production. Developers have yet to announce what systems will be home to the upcoming title, which gives gamers worldwide enough time to learn Japanese.
