Blizzard will be revealing their next WoW expansion at Gamescom.
Launching ahead of their proprietary event BlizzCon in early November, Blizzard announced on Twitter that the next world of Warcraft expansion will be revealed at the German gaming convention on August 6 at 9am PDT.
Although this news is huge for fans who are still clinging to the MMO for more content, initial game announcements very rarely feature a wealth information. Outside of an official title, a new continent and a teaser trailer, fans shouldn’t get their hopes up too much for more than a few pieces of news.
The fact that Gamescom and Blizzcon are only three months away from each other also suggests that the developers are only intending a soft reveal of the title.
While news of a new expansion is always exciting, its appearance in Germany may be merely a spring board to generate excitement for their own event in which all of the more interesting details about the expansion will be unveiled.
