EA Sports has announced that the US Women’s National Team Forward, Alex Morgan, and the Captain of the Canadian Women’s National Team, Christine Sinclair, are going to be the very first women to grace the cover of a FIFA title.

The US version of the game will feature Alex Morgan alongside the global sensation Lionel Messi, while the Canadian version will show Christine Sinclair and Messi. Even better yet, in FIFA 16 you’ll be able to take the pitch as any one of 12 Women’s National Teams – another first in the franchise’s history.

“This year’s World Cup showcased the unbelievable talent and skill in women’s soccer,” said Sinclair, “I’m thrilled that EA Sports is celebrating female athletes in FIFA 16. To be featured in the game and to promote women’s soccer with Alex is really special and another exciting step for women in sports.”

FIFA 16 is set to innovate across the entire pitch, helping to deliver not just balanced play, but authenticity and excitement with the entire experience. New gameplay features, including Defending, Control in Midfield, and FIFA Trainer all help players bring their game to the next level, and with the addition of women taking the pitch, you’ll find all new ways to dominate your opponents.

This newest game in the FIFA series will be available starting September 22 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. Have a glance at the covers below.
