Bethesda Softworks and ZeniMax Studios have been hard at work bringing their fans exciting news, whether it was the announcement of both a console version of Elder Scrolls Online or that ESO was changing to a free to play business model. This time around, it’s the official reveal of the first piece of DLC; Imperial City.

Molag Bol, the Daedric Prince of Domination and Enslavement has taken over the capital of Cyrodiil, the breathtaking Imperial City. Having no plans of stopping there, it’s up to you and your faction to retake the city and destroy your enemies. You won’t just be fighting off a Daedric Prince and his minions however, you’ll also be taking on the other factions.

As one of the first major DLC expansions for Elder Scrolls Online, you can expect more than just a few fixes or creatures to kill. With the six districts of the Imperial City being opened up to you, you’ll contend with Molag Bol and the other factions in both PVE and PVP combat. Also included are some new dungeons, including the vast Sewer system of the capital, the White-Gold Tower, and Imperial Prison in two difficulty settings: Normal and Veteran. You’ll also gain access to some cool new gear, weapons, and currency.

If that doesn’t whet appetite, there will also be some Imperial City-exclusive pets, mounts, polymorphs, and costumes gained via exploring the capital or purchasing them via the Crown Store. That’s not all though, you and your friends will have new foes to face, interesting characters to meet, and additional quests that add even more to the already considerable lore and story present in the Elder Scrolls universe.

Imperial City will be available starting August 31, on PC/Mac, September 15 for Xbox One, and September 16 for PlayStation 4. The DLC will be free with an active ESO Plus Membership or for 2500 crowns on The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Crown Store.
