Ubisoft is pulling out all the tricks with their upcoming Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, including an animated short that gives a bit more backstory for the main character, Jacob Frye. While his sister Evie -is- included in the short, the story is told by Jacob.
Very stylized and somewhat similar to a graphic novel or comic book style, the short briefly shows the evolution of London into the Industrial Era as well as Jacob’s opinions on progression. Getting to the meat and potatoes of it though, lies an Assassin’s Creed story through and through. This time, much of the story seems based on revenge against society as a whole, rather than specific villains.
The short also shows off some of the new gameplay mechanics revealed in previous trailers, but other than some story, much of it is things we already know. I’m still excited though, so let’s enjoy the treats so far and see what awaits us. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is slated for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 23, with a PC release sometime later.
