Our E3 coverage continues, this time with Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Below you’ll find a gameplay walkthrough of Jacob chasing down a particularly elusive target.
Syndicate has a number of awesome things happening, from there being two controllable main characters (the twins Jacob and Evie Frye) in a similar vein as Grand Theft Auto V, to vehicle combat. But that’s not all! Our new protagonists seem to have taken a page out of Batman’s book with an interesting new gadget called the rope launcher, which allows Jacob and Evie to rapidly ascend to high places as well as travel across them.
Combat has been renovated to remove lag in fights, making them smoother and flow naturally from move to move. Multiple enemies will attack at the same time and our heroes are equipped with all manner of short range weapons, including but not limited to a cane sword and throwing knives. During carriage chases, you can even jump on top and fight your enemies atop your ride or parkour your way to the opposite carriage and hijack it.
One of the main themes and aspects of gameplay in Syndicate is the gang warfare. Jacob and Evie have decided to fight the Templars gang on gang after finding out that they’re using these gangs to oppress and control London. Naming their anti-Templar gang the “Rooks”, the twins set out on their mission to destroy every last Templar in London. Our friendly neighborhood Assassin’s know their targets and their goals this time around and they will stop at nothing to thwart their evil.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be released October 23 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC release to follow sometime after.
