Belgian game developer Larian Studios has revealed one of its secret projects to be a PS4 and Xbox One release of Divinity: Original Sin, calling it the Enhanced Edition. Check out the video below for the announcement as well as some new details straight from Larian Studios.

This time around Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition is to be a completely revamped version of the original game, including local co-op which will allow players to drop in and out at any time, as well as allowing split-screen. A renovated interface has been designed to allow for smooth control on the console editions. One of the most anticipated features is the new fully-voiced dialogue and major changes to the storyline, including a new ending. Brand new gameplay modes are also to feature, with more details to come at E3 2015.

As a gesture to all those who have supported the game and the studio, Larian Studios grants the new edition to all customers who purchased the original game – free of charge. How nice of them.

The console version will be published by Focus Home Interactive, whom Larian Studios has worked with since 2002. Focus Home Interactive’s Managing Partner Cedric Lagarrigue stated that the Enhanced Edition “… will release on consoles at the end of 2015.”

According to Larian Studios, the Enhanced Edition will feature the following:

  • Become part of a reactive, living and open world. Explore diverse environments, find myriad creatures and tons of desirable items.
  • Experience gripping, party and turn-based combat. Manipulate the environment and use skill & spell combos.
  • Play in co-op multiplayer online or in local split-screen and engage in co-op dialogues. Shape your relationships with your partner that will influence the game.
  • Unravel a deep and epic story, set in the early days of Rivellon. Taking place well before Divine Divinity and Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga, Divinity: Original Sin presents you with a familiar world in another era.
  • Classless system lets you shape your character any way you want. Endless item interaction and combinations take things to another level of freedom.
