Square Enix and Eidos Montreal have announced Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. While we knew this was coming, we are still very excited, and the announcement trailer below only helps to fan that excitement.
Set two years after the critically acclaimed Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Mankind Divided sees the human population divided (see?) between “normal” citizens and the Augs – people with augmented body parts. After the Aug Incident in Panchaea at the end of the previous game, the public’s fear leads to systematic abuse and oppression of augmented. Seeing no other choice, the Augs resort to radical terrorism in order to fight back, forcing Adam Jensen back into action.
No release date has been announced, but the developers have officially stated that the title will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
All versions of the game were developed using the advanced visual and immersive capabilities of the Dawn Engine, and with collaboration with AMD. As a result, Mankind Divided will support Microsoft’s DirectX 12 and AMD’s TressFX technology.
The game seems to be highly ambitious with its political and social commentary, as well as the new locations and powerful augmentations, presuming to be the ultimate Deus Ex experience to date.
