Sony has abandoned the trademark The Last Guardian in the United States. Why? Who knows…
According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Sony has decided not to renew the trademark for The Last Guardian. It’s current state is listed as “Abandoned” since today.
Mind you, that doesn’t mean the game is canceled or otherwise in some development limbo. There could a number of reasons as to why Sony decided to forgo the trademark. The game could be getting a new title as part of Sony’s plan to “reintroduce” The Last Guardian to everyone who forgot about it since it was announced in E3 of 2009, almost six years ago.
