Star Wars fans can now rejoice, as we have been treated to a cinematically enticing piece of concept art from EA and DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront. The piece showcases an epic battle on the forest moon of Endor, first appearing on Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi.
IGN first posted the image after it was able to get an exclusive sneak peak at the game in an interview they had with the game’s Design Director Niklas Fegeraeus. Fegeraeus promised Star Wars Battlefront will provide “a great variety” then it comes to locations. Alongside Endor, he also mentions Hoth.
“Perhaps the hardest part about bringing the franchise back is managing expectations,” said Fegeraues during the interview. “Star Wars fans, including ourselves, are incredibly passionate about the universe. Each of us have our own personal favorites. However, with the talent we have here at DICE, the Frostbite technology at our fingertips, and the fantastic working relationship we have with Lucas, I believe we will deliver a Star Wars experience that excites fans around the world and gives them the chance to play out battles in some of the most iconic locales in the series history.”
Star Wars Battlefront is scheduled to be released at the end of this year, so it’s indeed about time we heard something new about it.
