Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number might not be released in Australia thanks to the Australian Classification Board refusal to rate the game, but developer Dennaton Games still wants Australians to enjoy the game. How? By pirating it off the internet.

In an e-mail sent to a concerned Hotline Miami fan, designer Jonatan Söderström wrote “If it ends up being not released in Australia, just pirate it after release. No need to send us any money, just enjoy the game!” The response was screen-captured and posted on Reddit for all of Australia to see.

Publisher Devolver Digital has later confirmed to Ars Technica that the e-mail was indeed sent by Söderström, and that he meant every word.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number will be released on PC, PS4, PS3 and PS Vita in early 2015. In case you leave in Australia, it seems to have permission to download the game off the internet and enjoy it – excessive violence and all. Only if the game gets banned down under, that is.
