In what is a fairly unusual move, Ubisoft has officially discontinued the Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass. This comes alongside a lengthy apology by Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallet in which he apologizes for the bugs that have plagued the game since launch across all platforms.

A separate FAQ has also been posted to the Assassin’s Creed website, in which a short list of games has been posted. Anyone who currently owns the Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass can get a free game from the list – although the time and manner of claiming said free game remains to be announced. To compensate those who bought Unity without the season pass, Ubisoft is also offering the Dead Kings DLC free of charge on all platforms.

This announcement hardly comes as a surprise considering the bumpy launch Ubisoft had – along with Unity, both UPlay and Initiates services were frequently down for maintenance along with a myriad of other issues, namely performance problems, across all platforms.
