Senscape, the studio behind the fan-favorite horror titles Scratches, Serena and Ayslum, is now making “the most faithful H.P. Lovecraft game ever”. It will be based of Lovecraft’s only novel, The Case of Charles Dexter Ward and will bear the same name. Here’s the video pitch.
The Case of Charles Dexter Ward will be a PC exclusive horror-adventure game, where players take the roles of Charles Dexter Ward and Dr. Marinus Willett in “a race against time to save Providence (and possibly humankind) from the evil warlock Joseph Curwen, who has made a pact with powerful forces of ineffable cosmic hideousness to exert his abhorrent influence across centuries.”
Assisting on the project is S. T. Joshi, a renowned authority on H.P.L and his works.
If you’re a fan of H.P. Lovecraft, and just appreciate a good horror-adventure, head over to The Case of Charles Dexter Ward Kickstarter page and help summon unspeakable horrors from beyond.
If they meet they’re goal and successfully fund this game, the folks at Senscape promise to acquire the licenses to turn two more of Lovecraft’s stories into video games. That’s something I can get behind.
