Creative Assembly has announced the next installment in the Total War series – Total War: Attila.
Following the usual pattern of establishing an empire and then toppling it like a tower of cards, the rise of the Roman Empire in the previous title is followed by its destruction at the hands of the Huns. The Huns, lead by the fearsome Attila, will sweep across the divided empire and wreak all sorts of havoc.
While the Huns aren’t a playable faction (I smell DLC. Do you smell DLC?), they are a force to be reckoned with as much as any other faction made up of raiding, murdering horsemen. They will ride across the map, which is quite similar to Total War: Rome 2’s for obvious reasons, burning and pillaging as they go, shifting gameplay from strategic warfare to survival.
Promising a much darker mood and game, Total War: Attila will release sometime in 2015.
In the meanwhile, enjoy this trailer, titled “Your World Will Burn”.
